An Inspector With a Diverse Background
Growing up on a cattle farm in Northwest Georgia, I was naturally exposed to hard work and practical skills. This foundation was further developed by my involvement in my father’s residential contractor business, which introduced me to the world of construction from a young age. Balancing farm duties with job site experience, I developed a solid work ethic and hands-on skills that I rely on every day.
My college years were spent at Kansas State University where I was a high jumper on the Track and Field team while studying agricultural economics and business marketing. After a successful career of college athletics, (Multiple Top 10 Big 12 finishes) I used my degree to become a Series 3 licensed commodity broker doing financial risk management for large agribusiness food and meat companies.
After several years working behind a desk, I realized my true passion lay in returning to my roots with hands-on, construction-focused work that involves direct interaction with clients and minimal time spent in an office. Seeking a career that aligned with these goals, I spent three years as a Systems Design Specialist for a foundation repair company in Kansas City, where I designed and sold a range of products, from structural piers to basement waterproofing systems. Conducting structural inspections sparked my interest in general home inspections, leading me to explore it as a promising career path.
When my wife was accepted into a medical residency program, I took the opportunity to pursue home inspections full-time. Over the years, I’ve completed hundreds of inspections across a wide variety of home styles, ages, and construction types. This experience has equipped me with a broad knowledge base and the ability to identify potential issues in any home, regardless of region or design.
Recently, I moved back to Northwest Georgia — where I grew up — to start my home inspection business and serve the communities I’ve always called home. My background in residential construction, foundation design, and comprehensive home inspections gives me a unique perspective to help homeowners and buyers make confident decisions.
Outside of work, I’m an avid outdoor enthusiast. My main hobbies include bike racing, skiing, camping, fly fishing, and golfing. My wife, Megan, and I are excited to settle in Georgia and enjoy everything it has to offer while building our life and business here.
